The breakfast was excellent with variety of options in the restaurant. I appreciated modern and soundproof room complete with coffe, really comfortable huge bed, for instance. Location: the hotel was not far from the main hill, central subway lines, and a quiet area of Lyon.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and very clean bathroom. Convenient 24 hrs check-in and on-site restaurant. Close to P+R metro station.

The hotel is not far from the city center and well positioned compared to the Metro. The room are fine and the hotel is able to fulfill the needs of the guests but the strong point is the kindness of the people are working in the hotel.. good choice for a nice trip in Lyon

The helpful staff. They explained the possible cause of the discrepancy between the description on Booked.net (triple room, 1 double bed, 1 normal bed) and the rooms they had available (double room, 1 double bed, 1 folding bed).

Noisy early in the morning (Sunday morning 09:00). Walls are maybe too thin, one can hear the staff cleaning on the same floor and also on the floor above. Problems with the bathtub, however staff quickly solved the problem.

It has particularly good and excellent setting close to a metro station. The staff are excellent and extremely friendly and really care about the guests.

Additionally, the location is ideal as it is situated in a quiet residential area near the subway and the city center. The hotel also provides a complimentary breakfast, which is a nice added bonus.

The food in the restaurant was very good, excellent value too. Try the Traditional Layonnaise salad starter, its huge and really good. The reception staff in the morning however couldnt have been more friendly and helpful. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room which was great. We did manage to park in the street at no charge and the car was safe. The room was a good size, clean,comfortable and quiet. The bathroom needs a bit of a revamp,but this was mainly the bath.

The reception we had on arrival was appalling. The girl was extremely unwelcoming and off hand. We had driven for 12 hours and just wanted to relax and have a nice bath. Sadly the bath was old and had black hairs in it- disgusting. We were too tired to complain. Luckily there was a shower. We had requested a car parking space in the secure car park, at time of booking. When we arrived the car park was full, so we had to park on the street.

I liked the cleanness of the room, the air conditioning worked perfectly and the beds were very comfortable. Everything in the bathroom worked well too. It was closed to restaurants and to roads to go out.

I would have liked to have a fridge and a safety box in the room.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at Hotel Saphir Lyon. The location was convenient, just a short walk to the metro, making it easy to explore the city. Nice spacious room and bathroom, very good quality. The location is very good since it is not in the center but is one metro stop from the old town and 2 stops from the center. The metro station is really close. The area is nice with a cosy italian restaurant just next door. If you are by car it's much easier to stay outside of the center in Lyon for sure.

The room service was supposed to be working until 22h but when I called a bit after 21h the chef has already left and we could get no food. The pizza place next door was essential in the given circumstances :)

The room was not only silent, but great-sized too, and had an individual safe, an air conditioning and an iron. The location was central, just off the centre and river, and central subway lines. It also was very close to P+R metro station...

I recently stayed at a hotel in Lyon and had a great experience. One thing that stood out was the convenient location. The hotel was just a short walk from central subway lines, making it easy to explore the city. The calm suburban area ensured a peaceful stay. Additionally, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room itself was clean and comfortable, offering all the amenities I needed. The breakfast was satisfying, with a good variety of options to choose from. I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located outside the centre of Lyon but just a few minutes journey by metro will take you to the main square in the centre of the city. The hotel provides a good, basic, no-frills service. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. The hotel is set in the Gorge de Loop area, but no wolves were heard howling in the night, only the sound of birds singing at dawn and if you looked from a front or side window towards the wooded hills, you will note that woodland and habitat have been preserved. In the afternnoon and early evening, swallows swoop and call to each other. A lovely part of Lyon for a visit and basically good value for money, as there are several boulangeries and restaurants close by.

Watch the price of wine at the bar and in the restaurant. One member of our group was charged £7.00 for a glass of white wine, nothing special either. Weekend evenings can be noisy if you have a room overlooking the front of the hotel, as locals take their time to amble home shouting and singing.
